Variations in SEO Agency Pricing
SEO agency pricing does vary depending on the company being served. Most often, where you find variations in the above pricing is in (a) the competitiveness of your industry or (b) how much technical knowledge is needed to ghostwrite content. Thus, it’s reasonable to expect that a B2C company in a moderately competitive, easily understood industry would swing $1,000-$2,000 per month lower, whereas a company in a moderately competitive but highly technical B2B industry could expect a swing equally higher.
SEO Agency Pricing for Consulting
If you’re only interested in consulting, fees range from $50 per hour for offshore SEO firms to $300 per hour for large, multinational marketing agencies. An average website assessment that includes strategic and conversion rate optimization suggestions should run between $5,000 and $11,000.
Selecting an SEO Agency
Pricing is clearly an important factor in selecting an SEO agency, but it should weigh against several other factors:
(1) the quality of the work, particularly keyword research and content creation
(2) the services’ fit to your company’s needs
(3) the strength of the team serving you
(4) expertise in all of: SEO strategy, keyword research, content creation, analytics, and marketing attribution (i.e. the entire SEO system)
